Dear Friends,

What a time it is. And how good it feels to be planning and looking forward to URTeC 2021 in Houston. Our hybrid event at the end of July will mark the first time many of us will be together in-person since the close of URTeC 2019 – nearly two years ago. And while we enjoyed a highly successful online event last year, it’s just not the same. It’s exciting to think about getting back to business and greeting old friends, perhaps even over a beverage.

Whether you’re able to join us at the George R Brown Convention Center or online, it is our distinct pleasure to invite you to participate in URTeC 2021. The program is as diverse and strong as ever. In fact, the hybrid format allowed the committee members to select and retain the highest scoring talks regardless of a speaker’s ability to travel. This means you’ll experience and have access to more than 250 presentations focused on collaboration and integration between the subsurface G&G disciplines, geomechanics, formation evaluation, wellhead design, completion design, enhanced recovery, production forecasting and the environmental, social, and corporate governance factors that will help you achieve long-term success.

The exhibition is back – in the convention center and online – featuring the latest in technology and services to help you safely produce more for less with an eye to environmental stewardship. In addition, a mix of topical breakfast and lunch talks will be available whether you eat at your desk or want to grab a bite between sessions at the Brown.

We should note that the URTeC partners and Houston First are committed to providing a clean and safe environment for all URTeC attendees. Current safety protocols include enhanced cleaning and disinfecting, temperature health checks & screenings, minimized touchpoints, cashless payment options, and required masking for everyone in the building. Given the ever-changing nature of the pandemic recovery, URTeC registrants will receive regular updates and the latest health and safety protocols will be posted on the URTeC website.

URTeC is a forum where pros engaged in all aspects of the E&P lifecycle come together to innovate, integrate, and advance understanding to create value. This conference remains the best opportunity you’ll have to exchange information, formulate strategic ideas and solve problems to manage and optimize your unconventional resource plays.

Please stay safe and we hope you’ll enjoy the conference – whether onsite or online.
