Leaders within the fossil fuels industry are pursuing goals to lower greenhouse emissions and adopt ESG measures. The pursuit is fraught with both opportunities and risks and the journey will take a long time. The dependence of our modern society on fossil fuel is far reaching and the transition to other reliable and abundant energy sources without human hardship will require an honest assessment of the positives as well as the negatives of all energy solutions. Much of the of the public views’ fossil fuels only in light of automobile transportation without realizing fossil fuels are used to create over 6,000 products including medicines and agriculture products to support a growing population. Technological advances in carbon capture, storage, and utilization along with clean shale gas can reduce greenhouse emissions while suppling the nation with secure power. The success of this effort can only be achieved with a commitment of the brightest minds and a collaboratory spirit tackling the challenges of the energy transition.

Our plenary panel of experts will share their insights on how unconventional resources and technology will play a key role in the transition to a low carbon world balancing oil and gas with renewables along with serving customers, policymakers, and investors.
